The Oberammergau Cemetery is idyllically located on Malensteinweg in the municipality of Oberammergau and offers a dignified final resting place. The cemetery is managed and maintained by the municipality as a public facility. Various types of graves are available, including row graves, individual graves, urn graves, and family graves.
The Mariengrotte, accessible from the cemetery, demonstrates that this place has always been associated with a sense of spirituality. It is modeled after the grotto in Lourdes and was donated in 1898 by Mr. and Mrs. Schilcher in fulfillment of a vow.
