The cemetery features many culturally and historically significant tombs that are listed as historic monuments; the first burial took place in 1856. The cemetery is easily accessible via the Yorckstraße S-Bahn station, and there is a cozy café at the entrance. The most prominent figures buried there are the Brothers Grimm, though they are by no means the only attraction.
